McPherson Window Cleaning uses De-Ionized (DI) Water Filtration Units in combination with carbon waterfed poles to complete a variety of commercial window cleaning jobs including schools, offices, factories & difficult access jobs. Melbourne Water quality is quite high with a TDS (total dissolved solids) reading often at 30 or below (indicating that it is slightly hard water) which means that we do not require reverse ozmosis to purify the water. De-Ionized water is water that has had its mineral ions removed. Deionization is a physical process which uses resins which attract and bind to the charged particles to filter out the mineral salts from water. Because the majority of water impurities are dissolved salts, deionization produces a high purity water that is generally similar to distilled water. We use a TDS meter to check that the water is at 10 or below to ensure that we are leaving a spot free finish. The resin that we use in the tanks is recyclable. Because the system produces purified water it also benefits our impact on the environment because we do not require the use of chemicals. The water dries clear leaving a high quality finished product. The waterfed poles eliminate the need for access eqiupment reducing costs and also reducing our carbon footprint. The carbon poles are light and strong and allow to access upto 4 or 5 storeys. If required we can also use a gooseneck attachment to get into nooks and crannies or hard to reach windows. The system can gain enough water pressure running of a standard tap fitting which can be found at the majority of sites without a problem. We can also run multiple poles off one unit which makes them very productive. By running long hoses off each unit we can cover more glass, more quickly. The poles are adjustable so we simply lengthen or shorten depending on the height of the windows that we need to clean. They are fitted with a brush that we use to scrub the glass and then the purified water rinses the window clean. The water-fed poles also have benefits for OH&S because we are able to reach windows at height without the use of ladders or rope access equipment. They are extremely effective for jobs where there are access issues due to the fact that we are not required to be at eye level to the glass to clean each individual window. We have successfully used this system at many schools and large commercial jobs including Pryda, Hafele & GMH. Overall we find the system cost effective, safe and easy to use with a high quality finished product. Please click here to view a video demonstrating the water-fed poles.
